Mobility Scooters on BBC Top Gear

Wasn't last night's episode great!
It was refreshing seeing the boys from Top Gear investigating mobility scooter models and their durability on tough terrains. The mobility scooter in it's general sense is for poodling around the shops or taking the dog out. I can say from our customer base only 5% actually 'off road' with their mobility scooter.
It was lovely seeing the modifications, seeing as that's something we do as a specialism. It exercises the right to be different and having a mobility scooter or powerchair that can be modded and there are people like Wheelie Good Mobility out there that provide such a service.
I especially liked to see the ex-servicemen and their climb, their comradery and drive. They used an oversized TGA which didn't fair well in the mud (they don't really fair well anywhere with their dodgy tracking and split tyre syndrome) and a three-wheeled tricycle mobility scooter called the 'Sport Rider' which was voted the best. They also said it was a whopping £5000 on Top Gear, I couldn't believe my ears. Whoever gave them the information was a greedy little piggy. Because I sell them at £3699. Now, that's a difference. The Sport Rider looks like a motorbike tricycle, but is a mobility scooter running on a massive 100ah batteries! No wonder it didn't get stuck in the mud.
Anyway, The tricycle mobility scooter truly is a great 'bit of kit' and you can read about it here: http://www.wheeliegoodmobility.co.uk/8mph-mobility-scooter/sport-rider-mobility-scooter-tricycle-top-gear.html

Have a great day, and if you're a scootee - keep safe.

You can catch Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May's exploits on BBC's Top Gear from last night (19th Feb 2012) on the BBC Iplayer or maybe even Youtube.
